At 8-7 in the tie-break, Gauff had match point on her own serve. She hit a dropshot that floated into the net. Muchová then won three straight points to close out the match.

Tennis journalist James Gray wrote on X: "Coco Gauff has plenty of career ahead of her. But if she never wins Wimbledon, this failure to put away match point will surely haunt her forever."
Fan Brett Douglas posted video of the point and said: "This miss will haunt Coco Gauff for awhile."
